How OCP 2.8 Works
 

OCP uses computational intelligence techniques such as combinatorial optimization and a genetic algorithm to search through the various valid combinations of cuts for each size of stock. The program searches through the available stock sizes and cuts stock which minimizes scrap.  It will favor shorter stock lengths when possible in order to use these less desirable shorter or leftover pieces.  It can sort out the best solutions incredibly fast and can provide you with levels of efficiency not achievable through manual processes.
